The Standards took effect in January 2025, and external quality assessments now evaluate conformance against them. Conformance depends on how your function operates rather than on software. But most of what the Standards ask you to document and report already sits in OpsAudit.

Standard 8.1 sets out what the chief audit executive owes the board: the plan and budget with any significant revisions, changes to the mandate or charter, potential impairments to independence, and the results of the work, including conclusions, themes, and monitoring results. Under 8.2, the CAE has to tell the board what insufficient resources will cost in coverage. Under 8.3, internal quality assessment results go to the board at least annually, and external results when they are complete.

Nearly all of that lives in OpsAudit already: the audit universe, the risk-based plan, resourcing, workpapers, and evidence with a full audit trail, issues through to closure, and the board reporting itself. Because the work and the record are the same thing, the evidence an assessor asks for builds up as the team works, rather than the team assembling it in the weeks before an assessment.
